GuyHead Coach
Guy Fridley

Guy Fridley is entering his second season as Head Coach of Women’s Basketball.  Fridley began his career at Dickinson State as a basketball standout in 1998.  He was a key player in helping the 1999-2000 Blue Hawks win the NDCAC regular season and tournament championships and make the “Elite Eight” at the NAIA National Tournament.  The team ended their season with a 25-6 overall record.  His contributions to a team success earned individual recognition as a first team, NDCAC All-Conference player.

Fridley was also a prolific scorer and still ranks as DSU’s third-most accomplished player for 3-point field goals made in a season (71) and in a career (108).  These achievements were predictable because of his previous two years at Williston State College, which culminated in the Teton’s winning consecutive Mon-Dak Conference titles and Fridley being named to the all-conference team.

Equally skilled from the sidelines, Coach Fridley has established himself through six highly productive seasons as an assistant men’s basketball coach.  His game knowledge and leadership abilities have been critical components with the Hawks making NAIA National Tournament appearances in the 2000-01 and 2003-04 seasons.  The first of these berths was marked by a 26-7 record and winning the DAC-10 regular season and tournament championships.  The Blue Hawks made the “Sweet Sixteen” and were rated #5 in the final NAIA national poll.

Fridley received his Bachelor of Science degree in Composite Social Science and Physical Education from DSU his Master’s of Sports Management through Nova Southeast University.

Fridley lives in Dickinson with his wife, Amber, and their daughter Amy.
