Stoxen Library Information
Built in 1961, and named for longtime librarian Matilda Stoxen, Stoxen Library provides library services to students, faculty, and staff, as well as residents of southwestern North Dakota. With holdings of materials in all formats, including access to a wealth of licensed online databases, the library’s materials collection includes over 164,000 volumes, 10,000 e-books, more than 21,000 periodicals, numerous scholarly article databases, and a variety of audiovisual materials, all of which are accessible via the Library’s web page. Stoxen Library is a member of ODIN, the Online Dakota Information Network, and needed research materials not available in the Stoxen Library collections can be obtained via interlibrary loan. Of special note is the Theodore Roosevelt Collection. The staff includes librarians, paraprofessionals, and students. There are areas for collaborative and individual studying. Dickinson State University library patrons can use 35 computers and 10 laptops. The Common Grounds Coffee Bar is located on the main level near to the reference and main service desk, and the Academic Success Center is located on the lower level.

Stoxen Library has 10 laptops for student checkout and 2 for faculty checkout.
Wireless Computing on the Main and Lower Levels of the Library. Additional information on connecting to the campus wireless network.
Photocopy services Self-service copier available at the Library on the Main Level. Password access to the campus departmental copier on the Lower Level.
Quiet Study Areas Spaces for either quiet or collaborative study found throughout the three levels of the building including individual study rooms and preview rooms located on the Lower Level.
